Do you require a security deposit?
As with most hire companies, we require a security deposit for the purposes set out in our insurance policy.
The amount for the security deposit will be a pre-authorised / holding payment of £1000 on your credit or debit card 48 hours prior to your booking date. (Bank transfer is also acceptable).
Please ensure that you have the funds available in your account to cover the security deposit. The vehicle cannot be released until the funds are pre-authorised.
What is the security deposit used for?
The security deposit covers the cost of any loss or damage from any one incident that has occurred to the vehicle whilst it has been on hire. It is authorised prior to collection and will be released providing the vehicle is returned in the condition it was received in.
In the event of any loss or damage, the hirer is liable for up to the value of this amount. The security deposit is used to fund:
Any loss or damage to equipment, fixtures, fittings, windows, tyres or damage to the vehicle
Any road traffic violation administration fees
Any cleaning fees (including toilet emptying)
Any refuelling costs
Any late return fees
How old do you need to be to hire the vans?
We accept bookings from persons who are between 25yrs old and 70yrs old, however if you fall outside of the age range the insurance company may authorise the cover on a case by case basis.
Can I drive the vans on a normal car driving licence?
You are able to drive our VW T6.1 (Barney) Campervan on a normal full driving licence.
However, in order to drive the Adria (Bill) Campervan you are required to have the additional category C1 (for vehicles up to 7.5t) on your driving licence as this particular vehicle has a maximum payload of 4.25t.
What are the collection and return times?
Our normal collection time is 3pm with the return time being 10am. There is some flexibility with those times if the vehicle is not booked prior to or after your booking. Please let us know if you wish to vary the times of collection or return and we will endeavour to assist where we can.
Is there somewhere to leave my car?
Yes, we have plenty of space to enable you to leave your car.
What does the van include?
We provide a fully kitted van, which includes Crockery, Cutlery, Kettle, Stove Top Coffee Pot, Gas, Water tank filled, Dish Washing items including TeaTowel/Clothes. You will need to bring your own bedding (we do provide a Mattress Topper and Mattress Protector.
Do you allow pets?
We do allow pets in our VW T6.1 Campervan. Unfortunately, we do not permit pets in our Adria Twin Sports Campervan at this time.
Do you have breakdown cover for the Campervans?
Yes, both vehicles are covered by Breakdown Cover.
Can we have more than one Driver?
Yes, you can have additional drivers. There is an administration charge of £25 per driver.
What documents will I need to provide?
Each driver will need to submit two current domestic bills showing the same address as the driving licence. (A full list of acceptable documents will be provided at the time of booking). All drivers will need to comply with our insurance conditions as well as provide a copy of their driving licence and for UK drivers a DVLA check number. All bookings are subject to Driving Licence and Identification Checks and to our Hire Agreement / Terms and Conditions.
Where can I go in the Campervan?
You can travel anywhere in the United Kingdom including the Scottish Isles. We include 120 miles per night/day with additional miles charged at £0.50p per mile.
What are your cancellation charges?
If the date of Cancellation is: Within 1 day prior to departure: 100%of the rental fee is payable / Within 1 week prior to departure:80% of the rental fee is payable / Within 2 weeks prior to departure: 60%of the rental fee is payable / Within 6 weeks prior to departure: 40%of the rental fee is payable / Within 10 weeks prior to departure: 25%of the rental fee is payable / Between 10-24 weeks prior to departure: 15%of the rental fee is payable / More than 24 weeks prior to departure:10%10%of the rental fee is payable.
